Course Summary:

Advocacy is the action or process by a person or group to support a particular cause or policy. Many capacity building programs seek to develop the advocacy knowledge, skills and experience of individuals and emerging groups. But how do we know that the capacity building support is empowering the group to push forward their cause? We can measure what they learned, but how do we know they actually are putting into practice their new skills?

In this self-paced course, we present tools, resources, and lessons learned on strategies for improving advocacy skills in your organization, as well as a tool for measuring advocacy capacity within an organization.

This training, funded by USAID’s Bureau of Policy Planning and Learning (PPL), and created by TechChange in collaboration with the Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) in Lebanon, is part of a larger effort to encourage USAID and implementing partners, specifically project managers, implementers local organizations, and academic institutions, to think strategically about advocacy and civic activism programming and share best practices to improve collective activism efforts around the world.
